Samsung Lions’ starting catcher Kang Min-ho (37) is taking a day off due to knee inflammation.
“Kang Min-ho complained of pain in his right knee after yesterday’s game, and a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan this morning at a hospital in downtown Seoul revealed inflammation,” Samsung head coach Park Jin-man said ahead of the team’s 2023 KBO game against the LG Twins at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on Friday.
“First of all, we took him out of the starting lineup for today’s game,” Park said, adding, “However, the inflammation is not severe, so I think he will be able to play from tomorrow.”메이저놀이터
Kang Min-ho has hit .301 with 33 RBIs and eight home runs in 53 games this season.
Kim Tae-gun will wear the catcher’s mask for the game.
“I think it’s more of a technical problem than a psychological problem,” Park Jin-man said of center fielder Oh Jae-il, “and it’s time for the player to make changes.”
Oh is in a terrible slump this season, batting .180 in 56 games.
In the previous game, he failed to live up to expectations when he hit an infield single with runners on first and second in the top of the eighth inning, trailing 2-3. He’s batting sixth in the lineup today.
