Mito Pereira (CHILE), who joined LIV Golf this year, has his sights set on his first victory.
Pereira carded a five-under 67 with 10 birdies and five bogeys in the second round of the seventh LIV Golf event of the 2023 season ($25 million purse) at Trump National Golf Club (par-72) in Sterling, Virginia, USA, on Monday (28 July). At nine-under-par 135, Pereira took a one-stroke lead over Harold Varner III (USA), who led the day before, in second place.
Pereira has been playing on LIV Golf since leaving the United States Professional Golf Association (PGA) Tour this year. He has no PGA Tour titles, but has three wins on the Conferi (2nd) Tour and one on the PGA Latin America.스포츠토토
He famously lost the PGA Championship last year after holding a one-stroke lead before making a double bogey on the par-4 18th hole.
Behind Varner III, compatriots Kevin Na (USA) and Henrik Stenson (Sweden) are tied for third at seven under. Brooks Koepka (USA), who lifted the trophy for last week’s major, is tied for 16th (3 under par).
