Korea Women’s Professional Golf (KLPGA) Tour ‘Trend’ Park Min-ji aims for the first win of the 2023 season at the Mediheal and Hankook Ilbo Championships.
At a press conference for the Mediheal Hankook Ilbo Championship held at the Ferrum Club in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province on the 12th, Park Min-ji said, “I trained in the United States because Korea is too cold in the off-season. He tried to do a lot of turf adaptation practice and short game practice because the American turf and Korean turf are different, but he practiced a lot of shots, which is a pity. He is trying to regain a sense of how he felt in 2021 and 2022,” he said.
It is a concern that the golf condition has improved less than the physical condition. Park Min-ji said, “I hope it comes up soon, but it’s getting better little by little. Now it’s up about 60-70%. Now that I have my first tournament (Lotte Rent-a-Car Women’s Open), I will not be impatient.” 안전놀이터
He also explained the reason for giving up participating in the International Crown, a national competition held in May. Park Min-ji said, “Out of the four players, I am the only one who plays the KLPGA, and the rest are LPGA tour players. If you go to the competition in the middle of the competition, there will be a change in the schedule and physical condition planned for the year. I thought that it would be a win-win situation if a player who played in the LPGA more than me would go out. I wanted to represent the country, but I made the bold decision to give up.”
Park Min-ji, who was in poor condition due to Corona 19 ahead of this competition last year, said, “I won the course in this competition in 2018, and it is my favorite course. So last year, I had a strong desire to play well. I am nervous because I think there will be many variables such as the green being fast and windy, but I will play with the determination to win.”
