SSG’s new foreign pitchers Eni Romero (32) and Kirk McCarty (28) practiced pitching for the first time. McCarty already has 150 km/h.
Romero and McCarty held their first live pitching at Spring Camp in Florida, USA on the morning of the 19th local time. Live pitching is a training in which pitchers pitch in a situation similar to a real game with a batter standing in the at-bat, and it is mainly conducted during spring camp to enhance the sense of practice.안전놀이터
First, Romero, who started live pitching that day, threw a total of 29 pitches, including a fastball, slider, and two-seam. The highest speed was recorded at 147 km/h. McCarty then came out and threw a total of 24 pitches, including a 151km/h fastball, cutter, curveball, slider, and fork.
Pitching coach Jo Ung-cheon, who watched the live pitching, said, “Both players are picking up the pace. Romero felt the power of the fastball coming from the high RBI. The more you camp, the more you improve your condition. McCarty made his body to the point where he could throw the ball in real life. He was close to perfect on both the fastball and the breaking ball.”
Romero, who finished his first live pitching, said, “I checked the overall pitch through live pitching. During pitching today, the movement of the two-seam was the most satisfactory. He pitched with care for low-course pitches to induce grounders. I will make a perfect physical condition through the remaining Cheongbaekjeon and practice matches.”
McCarty said, “The most important thing in my first live pitching was checking my physical condition. My body felt good when I pitched, and both the fastball and the breaking pitch turned out the way I thought. We have finished all preparations for the upcoming practice game.”
On the other hand, in the live pitching that followed, Lee Rowun recorded the highest speed of 148 km per hour and Noh Kyung-eun recorded the maximum speed of 147 km per hour. Moon Seung-won, Baek Seung-geon, and Oh Won-seok threw the highest speed of 145 km per hour, and Choi Min-jun, Shin Heon-min and Song Young-jin threw the maximum speed of 144 km per hour.
