The LPGA announced on the 16th (Korean time) that it has changed the number of finalists. The top 65, including ties, advance to the finals.

This policy came out of consultation with the LPGA Player Director and will be applied from the LPGA Tour Drive-On Championship, the first full-field 72-hole tournament with a cut-off during the 2023 LPGA Tour schedule.

The LPGA Tour Drive-On Championship will be held on March 24 at Superstition Mountain, Arizona, USA.

“These new rules are more in line with other professional golf organizations and will help ensure a manageable number of players after 36 holes,” said Tommy Tangtipaibuntana, senior vice president of LPGA Tour Operations.

He continued, “This change will provide more opportunities to tee off from one side on the weekend and help establish a faster pace of play in an effort to enhance players’ experience in LPGA events.” Explained.
