Japanese volleyball star secures third year in Italian top flight

Takahashi Ran (22-Japan) is set for a third season in professional volleyball’s top league.

Italian Serie A1 club Volei Milano announced its 14-player roster for 2023-24 on 30 May (KST). Takahashi is the seventh player to be named.

According to the Confederation of European Volleyball (CEV) rankings, Italy has been ranked No. 1 for six consecutive years since the 2018-19 season. Their 37 CEV Champions League finals appearances (19 wins, 18 runners-up) are the only ones ahead of the USSR+Russia’s 32 (25 wins, 7 runners-up).

Takahashi was a student volleyball superstar in 2020, winning the high school championship (Haruko) – MVP and the university championship – runner-up and top scorer. She was the youngest member of Team Japan to compete at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.토토사이트

With these achievements, she joined Palavolo Padova in the 2021-22 season and spent two years with the club, finishing 11-5 in Serie A1 and 5-7 in the Italian Volleyball Association Cup. During this time, he also completed his second and third years at Nippon Sports University and played for the national team.

In 2023-24, Takahashi will be busy with her third year in the Italian Serie A1, first year at Volley Milano, and fourth year at the JNU, while also being called up to the national volleyball team.
