‘Laos baseball evangelist’ Lee Man-soo, former SK Wyverns coach, promised, “If the Laos baseball team wins their first victory at the Hangzhou Asian Games, I will play in the Vientiane Presidential Palace wearing only underwear.”
Former coach Lee Man-soo sent a text message to reporters on the 27th, saying, “(As SK head coach) held a ‘panty performance’ at Incheon Munhak Stadium on May 26, 2007, which was a promise to reach 10,000 spectators, the victory in the Asian Games in Hangzhou this time also made the players proud. I want to take a lap around the Vientiane Presidential Palace with them.” 스포츠토토
He said playfully, “The Lao players also showed a strong will, saying, ‘I will allow coach Lee Man-soo to tour the Laos presidential palace'” and “I am training hard for that day.”
The Laos baseball team debuted on the international stage through the Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang in 2018.
Even at the time, former manager Lee Man-soo accompanied the team as vice-president of the Laos Baseball Association and declared, “If we win the first game, we will hold an underwear ceremony at the presidential palace.”
However, in the 2018 tournament, Laos lost to Thailand and Sri Lanka.
At the Asian Games in Hangzhou, which opens in September this year, we will once again challenge for a ‘first win’.
Former coach Lee Man-soo said, “I want to hold an underwear ceremony again for the first time in 16 years since 2007.”
