Libero Shin Yeon-kyung (IBK) and setter Kim Da-in (Hyundai E&C) are out due to injury.
The Korea Volleyball Association announced the TEAM ROSTER for Week 2 of the 2023 Volleyball Nations League (VNL) in Brasilia, Brazil on its official social media channels on Wednesday.
Compared to the roster in Week 1, there are changes. Setter Kim Ji-won (GS Caltex) and outside hitter Kim Da-eun (Heungkuk Life), who were left out of Week 1, are in, while Shin Yeon-kyung and Kim Dain are out. “Kim Dain and Shin Yeon-kyung have been excluded due to injury,” the Korea Volleyball Association announced, adding, “Please give a lot of support to the national players who will start the tournament in Week 2.”

The original Week 1 roster of setter Yeom Hye-sun (KGC Ginseng), outside hitters Jung Ji-yoon (Hyundai E&C), Park Jung-ah (Pepper Savings Bank), Kim Mi-yeon (Heungkuk Life), Kang So-hwi (GS Caltex) and Pyo Seung-joo (IBK), middle blockers Lee Ju-ah (Heungkuk Life), Park Eun-jin and Jung Ho-young (both KGC Ginseng) and Lee Da-hyun (Hyundai E&C), outside hitter Moon Ji-yoon (GS Caltex) and libero Moon Jung-won (Korea Expressway Corporation) have been retained.
The South Korean women’s national team, coached by Cesar Hernandez Gonzalez, went winless in their Week 1 match in Turkuye. They have now lost 16 straight VNL matches, including 12 in a row in their last competition. They are ranked 15th, one spot ahead of last-place Croatia.
In Week 2, the home team will face Brazil (9 a.m. on the 15th), followed by Japan (5:30 a.m. on the 16th), Croatia (5:30 a.m. on the 17th), and Germany (9:30 a.m. on the 19th). Croatia, who were Cesar’s first victims at last year’s World Championship, will be the favorites for Cesar’s first win in the VNL.
After Week 2, the team will return to Korea to play the final three games at the Seosuwon Chilbo Gymnasium. They will face Bulgaria (June 27 at 7 p.m.), Dominican Republic (June 29 at 7 p.m.), China (July 1 at 2 p.m.), and Poland (July 2 at 2 p.m.).안전놀이터
