‘Jeong Gal-ryang’ Jung Jeong-myeong, head coach of the Dong-eui University baseball team, was selected as the commanding tower for the 30th Asian Baseball Championship to be held in Taiwan in November.
The Korea Baseball Softball Association announced on the 8th that it had confirmed coach Jeong Bo-myung (general division) and Chungam High School coach Lee Yeong-bok (U-18) as coaches for the national team by age group. Coach Jeong is the first baseball team at Dong-Eui University, and has been in charge of the Dong-Eui University baseball team since 2019 after 11 years of playing as a player at the professional baseball Lotte Giants, managing director, and Lotte coach.
His leadership is recognized, including winning the 100th National Sports Festival in 2019, the first year of his appointment, and successively ranking third in the University Baseball U-League Wangjungwangjeon over the past two years.
Coach Chung expressed his determination, saying, “I will focus on making the players with strong personalities to be selected from various teams into a harmonious one team.”
The Asian Baseball Championship’s coaches and participating players will be confirmed in July.
