Regarding the recent search process for the national team coach, Sézary Kulesha, head of the Polish Football Association, said, “I had a busy and turbulent few weeks. I had to make a difficult choice and I made the best decision.”
He continued, “The coach we wanted was a leader who had a national team coaching experience, left outstanding achievements, and had strong charisma. Coach Santos met all the conditions. He will participate in the development of the youth training program as well as the national team.”
Santos led the Portuguese national team for 8 years from 2014 to 2022. They advanced to the quarterfinals at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, but lost to Morocco and were eliminated.
