He was only one step late, but his quick thinking was on point.

St. Louis was unable to catch up and ended the eighth inning.

In the ninth inning, Bae’s defence continued to put a damper on the other team’s offence.

He chased down a long fly ball that looked like it was going to hit the fence, then leapt high to make the catch.

He didn’t let the fear of injury from hitting the fence stop him.

Pittsburgh came back from a two-run deficit to win by five runs thanks to Bae’s performance.

Bae was quiet at the plate, but he impressed with his hitting.

San Diego’s Kim Ha-seong did not start the game against the Cubs.

He came to bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth inning, but was unable to reach base after a pop out and a strikeout.

In the top of the ninth inning, he showed his defensive prowess by running and catching a grounder to first base.

As the bats went silent in the bottom of the ninth, Kim did not return to the plate and the team lost 1-2.
