AI Peppers, a ‘genuine local volleyball team’, moves training ground and accommodation to Gwangju

The Pepper Savings Bank AI Peppers Volleyball Team, which has been based in Gwangju, but suffered from inconvenience due to the training centre being located in Yongin, has finally moved its training ground and accommodation to Gwangju, making it a perfect local volleyball team.

AI Peppers announced on the 7th that it has completed the relocation of its clubhouse from Yongin, Gyeonggi-do to Gwangju Metropolitan City. AI Peppers has set up a training ground and players’ training facilities within its home stadium, Pepper Stadium. The club and coaching staff offices will also utilise Pepper Stadium. Accommodation will be provided in apartments within walking distance of the stadium, with a canteen and treatment room for players.메이저사이트

With all the facilities needed to operate and train in the Gwangju area, the team will be able to truly call Gwangju home.

After its official launch in September 2021, AI Peppers needed to find a training facility for its players as soon as possible in order to compete in the Dodram V League in the 2021-22 season. For this reason, the team has been renting a facility in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, rather than its home city of Gwangju. The move will reduce the distance travelled by the players by around 2,000 kilometres per year, which is expected to contribute to the improvement of their physical condition and allow them to focus on training in a more comfortable environment.

With the relocation of the clubhouse, AI Peppers will have more opportunities to interact with fans in its home region, and will also implement various initiatives to develop volleyball culture in the region. On the 10th of June, the team and more than 300 Gwangju residents will take part in a plogging event to clean up the local environment by walking around and picking up trash in honour of June’s Environment Month.

Other events are planned, including a fan signing session for residents near the team’s accommodation. The team is also expected to interact more closely with amateur volleyball teams in the Gwangju area and youth clubs run by AI Peppers.

“We are very happy to be able to truly settle down in Gwangju, our home city, and we are grateful to Gwangju City for helping AI Peppers receive a lot of love and attention from the local community,” said Kim Dong-un, CEO of AI Peppers. “Through this move, we will put more effort into settling down and expanding the volleyball culture in the local community, and we will also reach out to our fans in the local community.”

Meanwhile, AI Peppers will also provide additional accommodation for the team in the suburbs of Seoul, so that players can travel to Seoul for personal business without any inconvenience.
